Mike's trip to Alaska

When I was in Spokane/Post Falls a couple weeks ago Mike headed to Alaska for a fishing trip with his Dad and Doug. Mike should be doing this post....but he is taking too long so I thought I would do it. They caught some BIG fish and by the looks of the pics and the stories I've heard....had a great time.

They flew to Anchorage and then had to take a puddle jumper to the lodge.

Mike and a pink? Or is that a silver? I have no's a salmon. That I do know. I think?

Doug and their guide. Mike thought he was a ringer for Jack Black. I can see it.

The view from the lodge.

Ed and a Chinook?

More fish....

The group with a shot of the Lake Marie Lodge sign. The couple that owned the lodge homesteaded the land.

The rustic lodge and one of the large Saint Bernards that helped keep the bears away.

More fish....

And more fish....

Oh wait! More fish :)

There were so many fish here is a pic where Mike just caught one and Doug has one on the line.
I would hate to meet that thing in the water while swimming. Sure tastes good though. Definitely the best salmon I have ever had.

And one last fish!

McCall with the Hamiltons

This past weekend Molly and Jesse Hamilton had us and the Slaughters up to their place in McCall. They are such great hosts, graciously opened their cabin to us and showed us all a fabulous time. And not to mention they make having 3 kids look pretty easy. Well as easy as 3 kids can be :). I didn't get a photo, but Jesse even got Mike up surfing for the first time! Way to go Mike! Thanks Hamiltons for the good times. If you ever need a weekend out in the "bus" let us know, we'd love to repay the hospitality. Meredith, Delaney and Keaton watching a movie.
Having snacks on the beach.
Keaton jumping off the dock.
He is getting braver!
Youngest Howell. (McCall neighbors of the Hamilton's). Not sure if he ate more sand or grapes.

Sara looks glamorous even with a towel on her head.
Delaney's butt and Jesse.
She is such a cute little thing!!!! Those Hamilton's make some petite girls. Keaton is 3 months older than Delaney.
The Slaughters
Not sure what is going on here :)
Keaton buried up to his knees!
All of the kids buried!!
Delaney enjoying a messy smore. Molly bought some GIANT marshmallows.
Molly trying to keep the mess to a minimum :)
Keaton and Mike
I think I cut him off from the smores?

He's pretty mad. The Hamilton girls aren't sure what is going on!
Sitting by Delaney makes him feel better.

The Dahlbergs (today is our 3 year anniversary!!!!) Wow...who was pouring the wine. That looks like a full glass.

Enjoying the view

Trip to Spokane/Post Falls 2010

This past week while Mike was on a fishing trip to Alaska (pics to come) with his Dad and Doug, Keaton and I headed up to Post Falls to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa. We had a great visit. While there we were able to visit my Grandma Audrey (my Dad's Mom) and Aunt Patty. It was great visiting with them and having them finally meet Keaton. On Wednesday Aunt Lauri, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Jody treated us to a Pirate Cruise on Lake Coeur d'alene. We had a group of 10 and the adults outnumbered the kids. We're still not sure who had more fun. THANKS!! Wednesday night Grandma and Grandpa watched Keaton so that I could go to dinner with Niki and Tracy. We met at Niki's house in downtown Coeur d'alene and biked over to Scratch for dinner (or for half off bottles of wine....not sure which one). On Thursday and Friday we were able to hang out on the Spokane River in Post Falls at the Gambles house. Lucky for me Keaton took a VERY long nap each day and I was able to really relax and enjoy the scenery and the company. We had fabulous weather while we were there! Much better than the HOT weather we have here. On Saturday Grandpa, Keaton and I headed to Hudson's for one (or one and a half) of their fabulous cheeseburgers. The trip isn't complete until I've been there. When Keaton got up from his nap and before we headed back to Boise we went to Riverfront Park in downtown Spokane to see the big red wagon slide, the garbage goat and ride the carrousel. A perfect ending to a great trip! Thanks to everyone for making time for us and keeping us entertained. See you soon!! xoxox Keaton, Great Aunt Patty and Great Grandma Audrey. Sorry ladies....I know you didn't want me to post this...but this is for Keaton's memories :)

Or should I say "Killer Keaton"! At least that is what his nametag says.
