Mickey Mouse Pancakes

Practice, practice, practice.  That's what's going through the head of this new Dad to be.  I keep thinking about Keaton's first steps, his first ride on two wheels, his first toss of a baseball, etc.  Although he's the one who's going to have to practice these movements I'm not without practice responsibilities of my own.  I'm going to have to apply the perfect Bandaid, sing the perfect lullaby and of course make the perfect Mickey Mouse pancakes.  Most of the practice time will have to wait until he's born but pancake perfection can be achieved prior to Keaton's arrival.  Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of this morning's first attempt I can assure you that it was near perfection.  Perfection is only three or four more Saturday mornings away.  Hey Keaton, I can't promise that I'll be the perfect Dad but I can promise that I can give you the perfect Mickey Mouse pancakes.

This last weekend we had a quick trip up to Spokane for a visit. We stayed at my parents house and it was the first time my mom got to see me in person with my baby belly. It didn't take long for her to bond with her newest grandchild. We brought up our wii and introduced them to wii bowling. I think they might be getting one of their own pretty soon. They both made it to pro status before the end of the weekend. We got a personal tour of the Post Falls Cabela's store where my mom works and also got to enjoy the family discount....thanks Mom!! Of course we had to head to Hudson's for some famous Hud burgers. Between the 2 (or 3 of us) of us...Mike and I had 5 burgers. That is a new record for us. Here is a great article about the establishment in Sunset Magazine for those that haven't been there.,20633,1665924,00.html

We were able to catch up with Mike's college friends Kennet and Betsy Bertelsen and their new daughter Elsa. She's such a cute little gal!! I was much better behaved this time than the last time we caught up with them in need to sleep in their spare bed and and have Betsy wash my clothes this time :)

We also caught a clumsy lovers concert with my Spokane gals and Brandie and Dave. Thanks everyone for the good times.

And of course...what's a trip to Spokane with out a little NASCAR racing? Sunday we headed to Aunt Debbie and Uncle Jodi's for the Daytona 500, some kick ass chili, good times with family and of course a little more wii action!!

It was great seeing everyone. Thanks for the good times and we hope to see you when we are back up there in March.

The soon to be addition to the Dahlberg Family....

Yes....we are upgrading! We can't wait to get this puppy out!!

26 weeks!!

Wowee!!! Look at that belly!! I am now 26 weeks and still feeling great!! We had an appointment last week and everything is awesome. I have already gained about 26-28 lbs....but the doc says that is ok. It's ok with him....not sure it's ok with me :) We have the nursery painted and Mike is slowly sanding the crib (it was a hand me down from the Wong's and we are having it painted white). I have been nesting BIG time...organizing all of the closets, cleaning the carpets and purging stuff we don't need. It feels good to have stuff organized. We have my maternity leave plan all finalized at it seems like the waiting process begins!!
Love to you all....I will see all of you Spokanimals this weekend!!

Happy Birthday Molly!

34 has never looked so good! I hosted a little B-day get together for Molly at our house this past Friday. I will let the photos speak for themselves. (no that pole isn't always in our living was just there for the evening :)
