Catching up....

We have had a fairly quiet start to the New Year. We started off 2010 with a few colds in our house hold and have been laying low trying to get the coughs and snivels to go away. Last week at daycare Keaton got his first black eye. He and another little boy were racing to get a tissue (to wipe his constantly snotty nose) and he tripped and fell. Laura has a pretty good photo of it on her blog from Alice's party at Pojo's. We helped Alice celebrate turning three yesterday at Pojo's in Boise. Keaton had a blast on the rides and playing with his friends. http://mogensenfamily.blogspot.com/2010/01/party-party-party.html
The rest of January and February are pretty quiet for us. We are headed to McCall last weekend in January for the Winter Carnival and have a few more Birthday parties, but other than that just laying low!

The Little Gym

Last Fall Keaton and I started going to the Little Gym on our day off together, Fridays. Last week was show week when the "The Little Beasts" got to show of the skills that they had learned up to this point. Here is Keaton's class and their medals.

Keaton cooks!

Keaton has been very curious lately about what I am doing in the kitchen. A couple times now I have put an arpon on him and pulled up a stool so he can see what I am up to. He loves it. His new word is HOT! Everything is HOT!

New Year's Eve

This NYE we spent over at Scot's (aka Doc Schmoops) house with a few friends. Mike and I got there a little early to toast the newly engaged couple (yes....the Shopko's are engaged!!!!!). We set the camera up to take a photo of us....but we didn't realize it would take multiple photos. Here is what we got!!
Congrats Scot and Sarah. You are such a wonderful couple and we are so excited for the journey you are about to embark on.
Happy New Year!!!

Me helping Keaton with his new puzzle.
We spent this Christmas in SunValley with the Dahlbergs. Doug, Lauri, Ronnie and Katie made the trip from Minnesota. Ed and Donna rented us a beautiful condo at the Lodge. The weather was gorgeous up there, not as much snow as usual, but sunny and COLD!! Donna, Lauri, the kids and I got up there late afternoon on Wednesday. We unpacked all the goods, got the tree set up and all the presents in place. We ordered some dinner, ate, put the kids to bed and then Lauri and I headed to the Lodge for some Hot Toddy's. Thanks Nana for sitting with the kiddos!! Ed, Doug, Katie and Mike got up there pretty late Wednesday night. On Thursday we hung out, went to lunch, played games, Ed read us a story (since we missed church), opened presents and made cookies for Santa. At about 10:30 on Christmas Eve we lost power along with 17,000 other people in Southern Idaho. We woke on Christmas morning to find the power was still out!!! The kids had to open presents from Santa in the dark. We made the best of the situation and took the kids sledding. They loved it!! I will have to get some photos from Ed or Lauri to show how much fun we had. We got back and decided to lay Keaton down for a nap and made a decision that if the power wasn't back on by the time he woke we would leave for Boise as we were running out of food and options. At about 1:30pm it was a Christmas miracle and power was restored. We decided to stay as planned until Saturday and were all glad that we did. We had a wonderful time. Thanks to all of you for making our Christmas a great one!!!
